5 Halloween Trends to Follow for 2025

Spooky season is here, and what better way to get in the mood than to get ideas for decorations. This year is a mixed bag of aesthetics. Some traditional, some new age. Either way, there’s something for everyone.
1. The Vintage Tone

Nostalgia is still killing it with all of its comebacks. For Halloween, that means vintage style and aesthetics. The black and orange color scheme is an absolute classic and has found its way into this year’s decor. Black cats are also crossing our paths.
Do you remember Halloween parties? This trend is all about it. Think about the vintage parties you can see in old ads, postcards, and spooky art. That’s where this trend shines: rustic and antique. It just feels like home.
2. Bright Neons

Nothing sticks out like neon green, orange, and purple. It’s even more noticeable when it’s bright. This stuff is everywhere right now. And it makes sense: people like fresh takes on traditional items. I personally like the Target birds that feature the colors. Michaels is rocking the pink neon hard this year and I’m here for it.
If you want to liven up a party, or just want something other than rustic fall colors, this is definitely the way to go.
3. Goth, Obviously

I don’t think the goth look has ever not been in style. There’s a reason it’s stuck around for so long, and it’s because of the timeless colors. This year, the got scheme is going with black, silver, some gold and even glittery. Simple, but a fun pairing.
4. Glow In The Dark

What would Halloween be without glow in the dark stuff? Just like the 90s, there are a ton of items you can find that glow in the dark. Skeletons, masks, decorations, and of course my nail polish 😉.
I think this is a great addition to almost any type of decoration you’re trying to do. Adding something that glows adds a nice, eerie vibe that can’t be gotten through the item alone.
5. Themed Parties

Last but not least, all-out Halloween parties are making a comeback! Sure, they never really left, but this year, things are getting serious. Parties like 80s slashers, Victorian house, and my favorite: pinkoween.
Conclusion
The Halloween season is here and there’s a million different directions you can go for your preferred style. Whether you like the Victorian goth look, or a pinkoween, you can find it in stores this year. It’s a great year to really express yourself and what you love most about the holiday.
